Gold is mined in more than 80 countries, but more than two-thirds of production from only ten of them.
China has become the world leader in dobychezolota in 2011. According to the China Gold Association, the year the country was able to increase production by 2.9%.
China pushed South Africa to the rankings major world producer of gold in 2007. To date, the country has about 6,328 tons of the precious metal deposits.
Gold mining in the second leading region - Australia - for the year increased by 3.45%, to 270 tons. U.S. production increased by 2.6% to 237 tonnes.
